JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President (VP) of Human Resources (HR) has the responsibility of overseeing all Human Resource functions for the organization, including staffing, compensation, benefits, performance management, training and development, employee health, and employee relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Strategically develops and coordinates all Human Resources activities for the Agency in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team.
- Leads and develops the Human Resources staff.
- Deploys effective recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the hiring and retention of quality staff. Oversees the new employee onboarding process.
- Develops, implements, and administers Personnel Policies, maintaining legal compliance for the Agency.
- Develops and implements an effective employee rewards program, including compensation and benefit plans.
- Manages the Agency’s performance appraisal program.
- Oversees employee health program.
- Administers the Agency’s Workers’ Compensation program and completes OSHA reporting as required.
- Serves as a successful participant on the Executive Leadership and Leadership Teams and interacts effectively with the Agency Board of Directors. Serves as a member of the HR Committee.
- Serves as a resource to Leaders, providing support and guidance on employment issues.
- Promotes appropriate employee relations throughout the agency and assists and advises Leaders on HR issues.
- Insures the Agency stays in compliance with all Federal and State regulations and files reports timely.
- Affiliates with appropriate Human Resource Networks and Organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources and 5 years’ experience required.
- In lieu of Master’s degree, Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years’ experience required.
- HR Certification preferred (SHRM or HRCI).
- Knowledge of and experience in employment law, compensation, employee relations, and safety required..

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
WORK PACE: Self-paced, requiring the ability to think and act quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May require frequent extended work days. Requires some travel between RUI sites, other community agencies and throughout the state.
Sitting: 6 – 7 hours in an 8-hour work shift; may occasionally alternate to standing or walking.
Standing: 1 – 2 hours in an 8-hour work shift. Alternates to sitting on a frequent basis
Walking: 1/2 – 1 hour in an 8-hour work shift.
