The Training and Safety Coordinator is responsible for training direct care staff in areas such as First Aid/CPR, new employee orientation, NCI training and other. Organizes and schedules in-services ensuring that all staff maintain required training hours. Maintains all employee training records. Coordinates company safety program and maintains records.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Associate’s Degree and 1 year related experience, or combination of education and experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • Obtain and maintain certification as a Non-violent Conflict Intervention (NCI) trainer and First Aid/CPR instructor
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where some guidance and standardization exists.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, customers, and the general public.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where some guidance and standardization exists.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where some guidance and standardization exists.
  • Ability to organize and present information at different levels of audiences for difference situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements: The incumbent must have mental stability and emotional intelligence that enables coping with the stresses of the position, including working with persons with mental and physical disabilities, while continuing to meet all the requirements and qualifications of the full-time position.
