Receptionist – Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY
The Receptionist will welcome parents and guests by greeting them in person or on the phone with a smile. This person will answer calls, transfer inquiries to the appropriate department or person. They will monitor the log book, issue visitor badges, and direct people to the appropriate areas of the building.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Utilizes clerical skills, including typing, filing, copying, data entry and computer skills.
  • Greets and assists parents and guests that enter the facility.
  • Organizes, prioritizes and works within deadlines.
  • Operates a multiple line phone.
  • Deals effectively with public and co-workers in a professional manner.
  • Complies with agency and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Processing of childcare related payments.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to determine and identify items and children in the periphery, near, and far visual fields.

QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                           

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

SKILLS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bi-Lingual preferred
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: NonExempt 

WORK PACE: Self-paced, requiring the ability to think and act quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in office type environment.
