Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Quality Assurance. JCDS serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on individuals’ abilities, provide choice driven supports, and advocate alongside people to live and work in our community. Responsibilities include:
Leads the development of a High Performing Organization through active demonstration of the county’s Pillars of Performance, encouraging leadership and empowerment at all levels of the organization; dedicates QII activities for self and staff; actively mentors, coaches and collaborates with employees to enhance the county mission and vision keeping in mind the common goal of leaving our community better than we found it.
Acts as Quality Assurance lead for JCDS; responsible for maintaining the agency’s accreditation with a third party quality organization, such as the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) and being the in-house expert on the standards of that agency; collaborates with the JCDS CSP leadership by providing knowledge and expertise of our accrediting agency, as well as external laws and policies that govern from outside agencies, to help establish the standards of quality for the support services provided by JCDS.
Leads the Johnson County Developmental Supports training team; ensures that all training and education reflects established standards; understands the relevant laws, policies and internal standards and makes sure all JCDS staff maintain 100% compliance in both timeliness and adequate knowledge of the subject being trained; tracks all training of staff and develops training curriculum around areas to ensure compliance.
Establishes processes and procedures that conform with the accrediting agency and internal standards; determines and establishes outcome measures for all aspects of services and supports, in accordance with those standards; gathers data through quality inspections of all JCDS settings, review of incidents reports in the appropriate system(s), and conducting quality assessment surveys of persons in services, guardians/family members and direct support staff; Identifies data trends and make recommendations to the appropriate team; oversees the formation of quality teams by functional area to aid in gathering data as well as measuring outcomes and making recommendations for continual growth.
Oversees the JCDS support team which include the training, fleet, and front desk employees; acts as the JCDS Safety Officer, HIPA/Security Officer, and Contracts Officer.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required in the following field(s) of study: Human Services, Data Management, Business Management or Administration, or related field; five (5) years of human services or quality assurance experience; three (3) years leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others. Preferred: Master’s degree in the following field(s) of study preferred: Human Services, Data Management, Business Management or Administration, or related field; Five (5) years of experience in the IDD field, including knowledge of regulations and funding options; preferably in Kansas. Experience may be substituted for education.
Candidate must be able to successfully complete criminal and motor vehicle background screenings, which includes KDADS required screenings and registry checks.
