This is a supervisory position that involves planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, and directing. Responsible for the overall management of client services, including Day Services (Life Skills and Production), and Community Living Services, (Group Living and Semi-Independent Living). Provide quality leadership support, and oversight to Department Coordinators to maintain sound operational environment while ensuring the consistent delivery of quality services
Directly supervises the activities of the Life Skills Coordinator, Production Coordinator, and Community Living Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Minimum Education, Experience, and Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field, plus minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field and 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position. Additional full-time experience in the field of developmental disability services, which may be substituted for the degree at the rate of one year of full-time experience for each missing semester of college.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Master’s Degree in Education, Rehabilitation, Social Work, or a related degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, plus experience of at least 3 years’ experience in a management position.
The position requires an individual with a consistent and predictable personality that is engaging, uplifting and supportive of staff and others including those persons. Served. The incumbent must have mental stability and emotional intelligence that enables coping with the stresses of both domestic life and the stresses associated with the demands of the position including with persons with mental and physical disabilities while continuing to meet all the requirements and qualifications of the full-time position.
