Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing the Community Developmental Disability Organization (CDDO) department, overseeing the point of entry for individuals seeking Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) services, and ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures related to the Developmental Disability Reform Act.

Essential Job Duties
  • Ensure that Single Point of Entry, Application, Eligibility Determination, and referral processes are implemented according to CDDO regulations and procedures.
  • Recruit, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of CDDO staff.
  • Chair the Quality Oversight Committee and ensure that all functions of the committee are implemented according to Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) regulations and guidelines.
  • Chair the Council of Community Members and assist in the preparation, dissemination, and communication of CDDO activities, policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop, update, and seek input on CDDO area-wide procedures, including addressing gaps in services.
  • Chair the CDDO Funding Committee and submit funding requests and reports to KDADS.
  • Act as the CDDO contact for the statewide data information system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Oversee the monitoring of CDDO affiliate providers to ensure quality services, consumer satisfaction, and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Participate in the management team, communicate regularly with CDDO staff, and develop and monitor the annual budget.
  • Ensure that gatekeeping and area transfers are performed according to regulations and guidelines.
  • Serve on local committees and maintain positive professional relationships with consumers, staff, and community representatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 – 5 years of experience
  • Two years of managerial experience preferred
  • Experience with Kansas developmental disabilities service system preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities and their families
  • Familiarity with the Kansas developmental disabilities service system and local area
  • Proficient in communication, facilitation, and project management
  • Ability to manage and oversee a network of service providers, ensuring compliance and quality
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and data management
  • Ability to serve as a resource for network providers, applicants, and local agencies regarding the IDD system
  • Leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and evaluate staff
  • Meeting facilitation and public communication skills

Work Environment

This job operates in an indoor professional office environment with limited exposure to moderate noise levels.

Supervisory Responsibility

The role supervises CDDO Eligibility and Quality Assurance Coordinators, conducts performance evaluations, and makes hiring and dismissal recommendations for direct reports.
