DSPs have the opportunity to empower individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities by assisting them in reaching their independence goals – in group home settings. Evening/weekend shifts – PT & FT positions with consistent hours. Responsible to provide training on basic life skills – building self-esteem and assertiveness, making choices and decisions, improving health and safety awareness, and participating in the community. Requires high school diploma/GED, valid driver’s license, good driving record, and dependable vehicle. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is beneficial, but not required. Requires strong communication skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs or ¼ of own body weight (whichever is less). Attendance at a two-week, weekday, daytime orientation required – paid training. FT & PT, 2nd, 3rd, weekend (Fri/Sa/Su) & PRN shift
