Position Summary
This position is responsible for securing work contracts to bring business into Cottonwood, enabling consumers to earn
money and justifying the employment of Production Associates.
Essential Job Duties
Establish contact with various businesses nationwide and internationally to procure assembly,
packaging, subcontract, and manufacturing work for Cottonwood workers.
When dealing with international customers, adjust the work schedule to meet their needs. (relates to
time zones and days)
Maintain a Customer Contact Log and provide weekly updates to the Cottonwood Industries Director.
Supply Cottonwood Industries Director, Data Assurance Coordinator, and staff with information
regarding job possibilities.
Review of Cottonwood Industries contract income analysis monthly with the Director.
Write all new contract proposals with input from the Director as to the potential and profitability of the quote.
Complete initial work ticket for all first-time projects.
Review and demonstrate customer expectations on all first-time orders with the Production Manager and
supervisors, utilizing samples, photographs, and videos.
Attend and represent Cottonwood Industries at trade shows. Minimum two per year.
Attend all State Use meetings at various locations across Kansas.
Maintain contact with the customer, detailing status as it relates to the completion deadline during project
production.
Drive, manage, and track leads for potential new customers while fostering a relationship with the lead
source for future opportunities.
Inspections of production process on all new changed orders with the Production Manager to troubleshoot and problem solve efficiencies.
Work closely with quality control to ensure their knowledge of the project, ensuring the customer
receives the product the way they requested, and improving retention efforts.
Maintain contact with businesses to assess satisfaction, quality of work, delivery schedules, pricing,
and future work opportunities.
Follow up with businesses that may have work possibilities through visits, emails, text, and phone calls.
Explore new business ventures or prime manufacturing opportunities that could generate work for
Cottonwood workers.
Make deliveries and/or pick up items for the agency as assigned.
Collaborate with interdepartmental staff to problem-solve and promote team participation.
Communicate professionally and accurately with all stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Cottonwood's policies and procedures.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2-year degree
3-4 years of sales and marketing experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to overcome objections and perform sales presentations
Ability to identify decision makers and gain access to them
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present solutions clearly and professionally
Ability to listen and understand customer needs
Ability to provide complete and accurate information
Good public relations skills

Constantly required to communicate and exchange information
Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment
Frequently remains in a stationary position
Occasionally moves about to interact with customers and team members
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an indoor professional office setting with moderate noise levels. The role may require occasional travel to meet with clients and secure contracts.
Supervisory Responsibility
The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
