Job Summary:

As the Assistant Director of the Butler County CDDO, you’ll have a unique opportunity to be a key advocate and leader in shaping services and programs that empower individuals with IDD to live their fullest lives. Supervisory Role:

You will directly supervise one employee within the Community Developmental Disability Organization (CDDO), leading by example and providing guidance in alignment with our mission. You’ll be responsible for training, motivating, andinspiring your team to deliver exceptional service to the IDD community.

Essential Duties:

  • Be a voice for change: Advocate for individuals with IDD, ensuring their needs are not just met but championed, and help them access resources that improve their quality of life.
  • Community engagement: Plan and lead outreach meetings, presentations, and trainings to educate Butler County residents about IDD services, increasing awareness and fostering inclusion.
  • Eligibility and assessments: Conduct intake meetings and eligibility assessments, playing a critical role in determining and delivering the right services.
  • Funding Committee leadership: Be a decision-maker in the Funding Committee, influencing funding allocation and helping secure essential resources.
  • Innovative solutions: Develop and implement training for staff to ensure they are well-prepared to serve the IDD population.
  • Stay connected: Maintain and enhance the CDDO’s online presence through website and social media management, using these platforms to further advocacy efforts.
  • Compliance and leadership: Work closely with the Executive Director to ensure all operations meet the highest standards of compliance with the Developmental Disabilities Reform Act and other key regulations.
  • Build relationships: Cultivate strong partnerships with local service providers, affiliates, and state representatives, and help create a community that embraces individuals with IDD.
  • Time Management and Deadlines: Efficiently manage your workload and adhere to critical deadlines, both internally and in collaboration with external partners. Prioritize tasks and ensure the timely completion of assessments, reports, and community initiatives.

Physical Demands:

Occasional lifting of materials up to 20 pounds, as well as frequent sitting and occasional standing or walking.

Qualifications:

  • Experience that matters: At least six months of experience in the IDD field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent work experience in Social Services may be substituted.
  • Heart and drive: A deep passion for advocating for individuals with IDD and helping them navigate life’s challenges.
  • Leadership skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and problem-solve.
  • Time management and adherence to deadlines: Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and manage multiple tasks effectively, ensuring timely and efficient completion of duties.
