2025 InterHab Live Courses: Suicide Awareness

About the Course:This presentation will cover risk factors and warning signs of suicidal individuals. The language to use with suicidal individuals as well as when speaking about those who have died by suicide will also be discussed. The Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) is introduced as a tool to use to help when assessing someone for suicidal ideation. Lastly, participants will explore potential protective factors and interventions to utilize with those who are struggling with suicidal ideation.

About the Presenter:

Dabria VanGieson is a Licensed Clinical Marital and Family Therapist as well as a Registered Play Therapist. She has been in mental health for almost 20 years. Dabria spent 10 years working in various residential settings (YRC2, PRTF) with children and teens with significant mental health and behavioral struggles. She is currently employed with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office in Wichita, KS as the Agency Therapist. She provides therapeutic services to any employee of SGSO and their family members. Dabria also has extensive experience providing professional trainings and crisis debriefing services.

The link for live courses is shared with those members who have registered for the 2025 Virtual Training Package and cannot be accessed from the main website. The 2025 InterHab Virtual Training Package features 2-3 live courses per month from January to September. These training sessions will be recorded and available to those registered.
