SUMMARY:2025 InterHab Live Training Courses: Active Shooter Training
DESCRIPTION:Active Shooter TrainingApril 21\, 2025 @ 10:00 am – 11:30 am \nAbout the Course: \nThis training session provides essential guidelines for responding to an active shooter situation. Participants will learn critical dos and don’ts\, including how to recognize the signs of an active shooter\, effective strategies for escaping\, securing themselves\, and alerting authorities. The session will focus on staying calm under pressure\, making informed decisions\, and ensuring personal and organizational safety. \nAbout the Presenter: \nThis session will be led by Major Joseph Grasela\, West Patrol Division Commander\, with the Kansas City\, Kansas Police Department. Major Grasela grew up in Leavenworth\, Kansas after spending some time in West Germany. He graduated from Leavenworth High School and received a degree in Sociology (with an emphasis in Criminology) and Geography from Kansas State University in 2008. After graduating\, he became a police officer with the Kansas City\, KS Police Department and is currently the executive officer for the Patrol Bureau. \nThe link for live courses is shared with those members who have registered for the 2025 Virtual Training Package and cannot be accessed from the main website. The 2025 InterHab Virtual Training Package features 2-3 live courses per month from January to September. These training sessions will be recorded and available to those registered.
